What is Hope4Haiti?
Hope4Haiti is an opportunity for the people of the Greater Springfield area to unite and contribute to a significant community project in Haiti, through Compassion Australia.
Hope4Haiti will consist of a series of fundraising activities around our community, culminating in a concert showcasing local talent (see the Bands page for the line-up) on March 6th, from 4pm till 8pm, along with the biggest fireworks display Springfield Lakes has ever seen (provided by our sponsor All Fired Up Fireworks)!
We’re going to need as much assistance as possible to raise the much needed funds for Haiti, as well as to pull off this event. See the About page for more info.

Musical feast!
The musical talent is shaping up nicely for Hope4Haiti LIVE (March 6th) – an opportunity to gather and celebrate our community’s fundraising efforts. This will be an awesome showcase for emerging and established local bands. Come and check out The Better Mousetrap Treatment’s jangly, indie guitar pop, the beautiful melodic sounds of The Art of Sleeping and Montpelier, as well as some jazzy funk from the Ben Hooper Trio . If alternative rock with driving riffs is your thing, don’t miss the boys from Willow Road and of course, Radiola will be doing the blues thing with virtuosity. Come and enjoy!
Band Spotlight – Ben Hooper Trio
As front man and founder of the Australian band Paisley, Benjamin Hooper has moved ahead leaps and bounds since the band split in 2007. His debut solo EP “Natural Reaction” received national and international air play. The title track from the EP was listed in the final round of 4000+ entries in the Australian Songwriters Association (ASA) songwriter’s competitions.
Not only has Hooper’s songwriting developed into a craft he can rightly call his own, he has impressed industry professionals with his ability to write songs that connect in a truly unique way.
Since forming his trio in mid 2009, he has written a handful of songs that made it to his debut album which is set to be officially released in April 2010.
Destined to be some of his finest work to date, Benjamin Hooper and his trio’s melodic pop/rock sound are bound for success in 2010. So keep your ear to the ground for the eruption of the Benjamin Hooper Trio!
Mayor of Ipswich lends support to Hope4Haiti
Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale has congratulated Emily on her initiative. “Emily is not only cool, she is tops! The city is in good hands with people like Emily”. A letter from the mayor will be sent out to over 200 businesses in the greater Springfield area seeking donations to help the Haitian earthquake victims. If you are a local business owner, please be generous!
